1 to 1 service

I think that service in general is very important because it helps the poor to have better life. We can serve others through many different ways, donations, taxes, missionary trips, etc. But when we serve directly to the person in need, service becomes something different, it becomes more human because by looking at them, looking at their condition, how they live, how dress, we can get a better idea of how life can be for some people. One-to-one service is also beneficial because it helps us to get out of our little circle, where everything is right; we eat everyday, we have nice clothes, nice cars and all types of luxuries and see what is happening out there in the real world. We can get a better picture of the reality of our world, where a lot of people do not even know if they will have food tomorrow.

Also one-to-one service can impact in a positive way the people that are being helped. Because I think there is a big difference between receiving money in an envelope and seeing that somebody is actually taking the time to go to your house or neighborhood and helping you directly, that you can feel that they care about you.

And also the Bible tells us that we should love our neighbors, so how are we going to show love to them if we cant go and help them?

In conclusion, indirect service is very helpful, I mean is better than doing nothing, but when service includes a relationship between the helper and the one being helped it becomes something even more powerful.
