What to Improve

Drinking water is one the most unnoticed essential commodity. Ideally one should drink their half their weight in ounces (a 200 pound person should drink 100 oz. daily), but most people rarely do. Because tap water is not very healthy or tasty (especially if you have a home well system) in this area of Michigan, I believe every family should invest in a quality steam distiller.

The steam distiller heats and evaporates the water, and its fan system condenses the steam into a container, leaving pure, awesome tasting water.

There are energy, cost, and convenience advantages of buying a water distiller. Although I don't live in the dorms, I know that my friends that live there have to continually buy bottled water. The disposable plastic of the bottles use up both energy and raw materials, and the transport from the manufacturer to the retailers and the retailers to your home uses up additional energy. This far outweighs the energy usage of the steam distiller, and is much more costly in the long run. Also, a distiller eliminates any future buying or carrying of bulky bottles of water. And the best reason: having water just always chilling there is huge incentive to drink!

  1. I HATE drinking plain 'ol water. I'll drink mineral water but not so-called "flat" water. Maybe your idea would persuade me otherwise.
