Reusable or disposable?

The movement has caught on! Green is the new black. Going green- that is. Many are doing what they can to save our beautiful planet. With this, a lot of research has been done to let consumers know what products are more environmental friendly.

I researched to see which is more environment friendly: Styrofoam or ceramic mugs. My first thought was that ceramic cups were better for the environment because a person gets more uses out of it. As I researched it, I found out that my suspicions were relatively correct.

The University of Victoria did research on which of the two is better. Mugs are only better if a person gets a certain number of uses from mugs. Another source stated that mugs require more energy to make, but generationexe.com reports that if a person gets at least 45 uses than it way more environmental friendly than disposable cups. This site also reported that Styrofoam is not biodegradable and is not healthy. Therefore it's best to stick to mugs and buy reusable mugs.
