carbon footprint

In our society, every day more people are starting to become “greener”. People are now trying to save the environment and they are doing this in several ways, but sometimes when you hear the question paper or plastic in the supermarket the choice that you think is greener is probably not that much different than the other.
People usually think that if they choose paper bags they are helping the environment, but when you realize how many trees they cut down every day to make the paper bags and all the fuel that they need to transport the logs it’s not as green as you thought it would be. However, paper bags are easier to recycle.
Plastic bags are made out of petroleum-derived oil which, as we all know, is harmful for our environment. A pro to plastic bags is that they emit fewer materials to the air.
In conclusion, I think that both types of bags are the same, both have pros and cons so maybe in the future we will have another type of bag which will leave an even smaller carbon footprint.
